Mov’in Bed brings the comfort of a movie night at home into the atmosphere of an outdoor cinema. Settle into your pillows, put on your headphones and watch the big screen come to life, with food and drinks delivered straight to your bed.

There is something about watching a film in bed that makes it feel more personal. You settle in, share the popcorn and forget about everything else for a while.
We wanted to bring that feeling outdoors.
At Mov’in Bed, the evening starts before the opening scene. There is time to catch up, order something to eat and watch the daylight fade. Then the headphones go on, the screen lights up and the film takes over.
It might be a first date, an evening with old friends or a family outing everyone has been looking forward to. The film gives you a reason to come. The time together makes it your night.

Our story started with a bed
Mov’in Bed began in 2016 with a simple idea: take one of the most familiar ways to watch a film and put it somewhere unexpected.
The bed left the bedroom, and movie night became a shared outdoor experience.
Over the years, different settings and editions have given that idea new possibilities. The wider Mov’in story has also included Mov’in Car and Mov’in Boat, bringing cinema to audiences watching from their cars and from the water.
Each experience explores a different setting for the same pleasure: getting together and getting lost in a film.

Our story includes a Mov’in Bed edition with Polestar and three editions at Harbour Park, where beds on the sand gave Sydney movie nights their own city-beach setting.
Those chapters are part of what makes Mov’in Bed what it is today. The surroundings can change, while the invitation stays familiar: get comfortable, spend time together and enjoy the film.

Into the eastern suburbs
We keep going and move to a new home at the Entertainment Quarter showground, keeping Sydney summers alive in the eastern suburbs.

Going national
Mov'in Bed goes national for the first time. Sydney moves to the Entertainment Quarter rooftop carpark, and we head to Melbourne's St Kilda, where the city-beach idea was born.

2020
Mov'in Car
After successful seasons interstate came COVID. We pushed through and pivoted to Mov'in Car in Sydney, keeping a night out alive while following every government safety guideline. We sold out every night, and secured a season in Canberra too.

2021
Mov'in Boat
Born from the second wave (pun intended). 40 row boats, each holding up to 4 people, and you could even bring your own boat to watch blockbusters in Darling Harbour. No row boat? No problem: there were beds on a 1000 sqm floating platform. Food and drinks were delivered to you on the water.

2023–24
Back to Barangaroo
We return to Barangaroo, this time on land. A city beach, Australia's largest outdoor screen and a beautiful sunset. Our first season sold out within a few weeks.

2024–25
VIP beds and big nights
We introduce the West Hotel VIP beds: real beds from the hotel, with a mini fridge, sparkling wine, bottomless popcorn and butler service. We also hosted our first TV series premiere on the big screen.
